[BEHIND THE DESIGN]
CREATIVE DIRECTION
Influenced by Vaughan Oliver’s philosophy of experimentation, the project relied on process over polish. Hundreds of ink-blot tests were produced to visualise distortion, duality and decay, themes central to Morrison’s final chapter.
MATERIAL EXPERIMENTATION
The inner sleeve uses thermochromic ink, revealing hidden imagery through heat and touch. This physical interaction mirrors the album’s tension between revelation and restraint.
DESIGN APPROACH
The result is tactile and imperfect by design, an artefact of process that embraces chance, texture and the unknown. A visual echo of Morrison’s own descent and evolution, rendered in paper and ink.
